Sigma Alpha Recruitment
Recruitment Process
Since Sigma Alpha is a professional sorority, our recruitment process is very different from social sororities. Recruitment is a four day long process in which the active chapter gets to know each potential new member through various activities. Not only does this week allow the chapter to get to know potential new members, but it also gives potential new members a chance to learn about Sigma Alpha and its active members. Although recruitment week may seem overwhelming, it is a lot of fun! Just make sure to be yourself!
After recruitment, the active chapter has a meeting and votes on whether each potential new member would be a good addition to the sorority. The potential members will receive a call telling them if they were extended a bid. If the chapter extends a bid to a potential member, they are inviting her to participate in the Membership Candidate process to one day, become a sister.
If you have any questions about the recruitment process you can. head over to our FAQ page for some more helpful information!

Bid Eligibility
We encourage anyone who is interested in joining Sigma Alpha to come to recruitment to learn more about our chapter and the wonderful women in it. While anyone can come to recruitment, who has paid the recruitment fee and turned in the correct paperwork, there are a few requirements to be eligible to receive a bid.
